Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re asking the question, it might already be time. Therapy isn’t just for crisis—it’s for anyone who wants to feel better, think more clearly, and move forward with intention. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you gain clarity and build meaningful change.
What is a therapy session like?
Think of therapy as a space that’s fully yours—supportive, nonjudgmental, and focused on your growth. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll explore what’s on your mind, identify patterns, and develop practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
Is therapy a good fit for my child?
We work with teens ages 13 and up. Every young person is different, so we begin with an assessment to understand their needs and determine the best path forward. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where they can express themselves and build healthy coping skills.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
We offer both. Whether you prefer the connection of in-person sessions here at our Silver Spring office or the convenience of telehealth, you can choose what works best for your lifestyle and comfort.
What insurances do you accept?
We aim to make therapy as accessible as possible. We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, United Healthcare, Virginia Medicaid, Ascension, and Quest Behavioral Health.
Even more coverage is on the way—CareFirst BCBS and Maryland Medicaid will be accepted starting in June.
What if I’m paying out of pocket—can I get reimbursed?
Yes. We partner with Thrizer to make reimbursement simple. Thrizer helps you access your out-of-network benefits and handles much of the process for you—so you can focus on your care, not the paperwork.
